Through MiX's services, HALE has been able to effectively cross-sell to its diverse customer base and address unique telematics requirements.

With a robust suite of telematics services tailored to HALE's specific industry verticals, featuring MiX Fleet Manager, vehicle asset tracking, MiX 4000, VT, and AT,  the partnership between HALE Electronic and MiX by Powerfleet has thrived.

Utilising the MiX Rovi Mini alongside MiX 4000, McGill’s was able to identify crucial maintenance warnings that ensured vehicles were repaired before breakdowns occurred. 

CAN diagnostic data from June to October 2022 showed a spike in August for low battery voltage and engine coolant temperature warnings followed by a significant reduction in these areas in August. Low battery voltage warnings as well as engine coolant level warnings were reduced.

Since implementation, a number of preventative repairs have been carried out based on data reported by the MiX by Powerfleet system.

Aside from focusing on compliance, Martin Oliver Transport focused on driver performance and clearer fleet visibility, to ensure safe diving practices are being adhered to and that their vehicles are properly utilised. 

Moreover, Martin Oliver Transport’s director, Michael, and his father, Stuart are avid truck racers and are competing in the British Truck Racing Championship. The BTRC is a longstanding MiX partner who has utilised our solutions to achieve safer, accident-free races.

To achieve their goal of improving driver performance and subsequently, safety on the road, MiX by Powerfleet assessed Swans Travel’s fleet management system and implemented a comprehensive, customised solution to suit their needs. This included MiX Fleet Manager software integrated with MiX 4000, as well as MiX Vision, MyMiX, RIBAS and MiX 3D.

With these solutions in tow, Swans Travel was able to track their vehicles and monitor their drivers in real-time to identify risks, poor driving behaviour and more. Thanks to in-depth data collection and reporting, the company gained insight into key areas for improvement that allowed them optimise their fleet through in-cab alerts, driver safety workshops and performance review tools. 

Within 6 to 12 months of implementing MiX’s solutions, Swans Travel saw a significant improvement in driver behaviour. A reduction in harsh braking, harsh acceleration and excessive idling also lead to a reduction in fuel consumption that further optimised their operation. Additionally, MiX by Powerfleet’ technology helped overhaul the company’s customer service by providing clients with real-time updates and feedback about journeys and trips.

Iberdrola is focused on optimising fleet utilisation, improving driver performance to boost safety, and transitioning vehicles to EV or hybrid models.

The MiX by Powerfleet customer success team established that MiX DriveMate, would help Iberdrola achieve its KPI targets. MiX DriveMate provides in-depth insights into driving behaviours, especially when it comes to instances of harsh braking or accelerating, and over speeding. Highlighting these behaviours to drivers supports the reduction and improvement of these actions to help work towards safer driving performance. This ultimately reduces accident risk within the fleet and helps reduce fuel consumption, a key to limiting carbon emissions and improving fleet sustainability.

Within 12 months of implementing this MiX solution, Iberdrola saw a reduction of 33% in harsh braking and acceleration incidents, and a 56% decrease in over speeding. Further, they achieved a 32% increase in vehicles meeting their monthly leasing kilometre allowance. These impressive results have enabled Iberdrola to extend the solution to branches within the United Kingdom as well as the United States. They plan to further extend it into other regions of the Americas and into Europe too. MiX’s Service for Life approach will ensure that Iberdrola is setup for success, no matter where in the world their fleet is located. 

Itamaracá Transportes is a Brazil-based public transport operator. They chose MiX Fleet Manager Premium, a fully comprehensive fleet management solution from MiX by Powerfleet, to reduce fuel consumption and carbon emissions through more efficient driving.

With the MiX by Powerfleet solution in place, Itamaracá could set up and receive several types of vehicle and driver reports and alerts in real-time. As a result, they have been able to assess the performance of each driver and improve their drivability profiles – a significant contributor to passenger comfort and satisfaction.

Established in 2004, MA Cargo is a Tanzania-based transporter of general cargo, goods, oil and petroleum products within Tanzania as well as to neighboring countries like Rwanda, Burundi and Uganda.

When the company approached MiX by Powerfleet channel partner Superdoll in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, they were experiencing a number of challenges, including high fuel and maintenance costs, and poor driver behavior. With high instances of night-time driving, there was also a concern around the safety of cargo.

Once installation of MiX Fleet Manager was complete, and MA Cargo’s staff were trained, the company was slowly able to address each of the challenges they had been experiencing. Thanks to the live and historical tracking features, event reports and fuel consumption reports, MA Cargo achieved a long list of impressive results including a 25% reduction in fuel consumption and a 75% improvement in cargo safety.

KK Traveller is a proudly Ugandan bus operator, with their headquarters in the capital city of Kampala. After five fatal accidents in just one year, KK Traveller knew they needed to improve their safety records, reduce the number of accidents their buses were involved in, and decrease their drivers' speeding violations.

After hearing about MiX by Powerfleet through word of mouth, they approached our East Africa office and asked them to find a fleet management solution that would help make their passenger services safer. In particular, they wanted a system that would allow them to monitor a vehicle's speed, identify specific drivers and flag instances of excessive idling, harsh braking and acceleration. It turned out that they very thing they were looking for was an all-in-one fleet management solution that only MiX could provide.

After just two years of using MiX Fleet Manager, KK Traveller reduced its annual fatal road accidents by 90% among other impressive results.

Having heard about MiX by Powerfleet from Scania Tanzania (another one of MiX's customers), Transcargo began enquiring about acquiring a telematics system. They were immediately impressed by what MiX could offer – as well as the after-sales support and training – and opted for MiX Fleet Manager Premium.

MiX Fleet Manager Premium is a complete fleet management solution, which begins with the installation of on-board computers. These computers collect valuable vehicle and driver data, which is transmitted and made available in various formats via MiX's online information and tracking portal.

Transcargo had their entire fleet kitted out and, as a result, almost immediately started to feel the effects of being able to track and monitor their assets and drivers in real-time. They also found the system valuable when an incident occurred, as historical data could be pulled up from around the time of the incident for analysis purposes.

On looking to improve road safety and achieve long-term savings, Colombian-based construction supplier, CEMEX, chose to work with LAP Technologies, an official MiX by Powerfleet channel partner in Colombia. CEMEX opted for a comprehensive MiX fleet management solution that interfaces with the company’s fleet management software platform.

Since installation, CEMEX has been able to reduce hot engine shut off by nearly 500%, which has helped the company foresee any maintenance requirements and carry out the necessary preventative measures. Thanks to GPS data, fleet managers can also better co-ordinate maintenance scheduling and improve vehicle utilization and fleet efficiency.

With the help of driver behavior data, the company has implemented a reward program that has seen violations such as excessive speeding reduce from an average of 800 incidents per month to virtually zero. This has contributed to a 4% reduction in the fleet’s overall fuel consumption and fewer incidents on the road.

Mozzie Cabs provides a 24/7 metered taxi service to Durban’s tourists and local residents, and has become one of the oldest and best-known taxi brands in the region. To ensure its passengers experience the safest and most reliable service possible, Mozzie Cabs recognised the need for a system that could actively monitor each vehicle’s location and provide detailed reports on each driver’s behaviour.

With a fleet of 43 sedans, Durban-based metered taxi service Mozzie Cabs averages 1 million trips each year by servicing hotels, the airport and night spots in and around the city. They required a system that could monitor vehicle and driver behaviour, as well as supply detailed trip information in case an accident analysis was needed.

After consulting with Compass Fleet Management (FM), a division of MiX by Powerfleet in South Africa’s KwaZulu-Natal province, Mozzie Cabs chose a comprehensive fleet management system that included MiX by Powerfleet’s FM Communicator on-board computer with GPS and GPRS functionality.

The overall results included reductions in in-town speeding and over-revving as well as a reduction in maintenance costs across the fleet. Mozzie Cabs also reported fewer road incidents, better fuel efficiency and improved overall customer satisfaction. In addition, the percentage of drivers who received a performance incentive increased by 4% over the course of a year due to improved driving behaviour.

Established in 1946, Richmond’s Coaches is a family-owned coach hire company situated near Cambridge in the UK. Being in the public transport sector, Richmond’s needed to be able to track the location of their fleet of 20 coaches and three buses at any time, which would help to give accountability to their assets and reduce customer complaints for vehicles not running according to their timetables. They also wanted to be able to see the state of their vehicles’ engines and identify potential issues before damage was done.

As a long-standing customer, it made sense for Richmond’s to migrate to MiX Fleet Manager. The new and improved software platform offered 24/7 access to their fleet data as well as enhanced navigation, tracking and reporting.

Following the migration, Richmond’s achieved a number of tangible results. For example, apart from helping them to manage their fleet operation with optimum efficiency, the system allowed them to save money – on both overall fuel spend and vehicle maintenance.

Data collected from MiX Fleet Manager was put to full use by holding regular meetings to update drivers on their performance and then giving them relevant training. This training taught drivers how the MiX Fleet Manager solution works, why their role is so important to the fleet’s success (encouraging engagement) and how to become a more economical and safer driver. Within less than a year, all of these actions have led to a 10 to 15% reduction in overall fuel consumption and it continues to drop.

CBL (Clive Barford Ltd) is a truly local firm that provides quality construction equipment to their customers. This company has worked with MiX by Powerfleet for years with the installation of a device that tracks their fleet’s vehicle and driver hours so they can meet their legal requirements. Now they’re using MiX Fleet Manager to monitor speeding events within their fleet in an effort to increase safety which, in turn, reduces the risk of accidents and associated costs.

CBL has utilised the telematics data and reporting provided to them through MiX by Powerfleet’s solution to coach their drivers on safe driving behaviour and dramatically decreased the number of speeding violations within only 2 months.

G4S chose MiX by Powerfleet to be their telematics provider because they knew that the company’s decades-long industry experience would be exactly what they needed to help them achieve their main objectives of reducing environmental impact, minimising accidents and optimising fuel spend.

MiX by Powerfleet systematically tackled these objectives by implementing an on-board computer (MiX 4000) to capture vehicle/engine diagnostics, an in-vehicle display (MiX DriveMate) to provide live feedback to drivers on the road, a driver engagement app and reporting capabilities to collate data and translate it into easy to view Dashboards.

 Despite implementing all this telematics software during a difficult economic period, excellent results were achieved within a short time period. G4S’ collision rate decreased by a whopping 80% in 6 months! This was in part due to their drivers’ safety score increasing by 66%. The fleet’s idling hours decreased by 43%, leading to a reduction of two tons of CO2 emissions per year the fleet is in operation.

Linde needed their fleets equipped with a standardised combination of telematics solutions. To match their needs, MiX by Powerfleet equipped Linde’s Romanian, Greek and Turkish fleets with MiX Fleet Manager (an inclusive fleet management solution), MiX Vision (an in-cab video solution), MyMiX (a driver engagement app) and MiX 3D (a remote digital tachograph data download service).

With all these solutions in place, Linde now closely monitor and manage the behaviour of their drivers, especially those behaviours that have been proven to increase crash risk. The in-cab cameras (provided through MiX Vision) have made drivers more cautious while driving and created a culture of safety awareness. These cameras have also helped Linde meet compliance requirements. With the addition of MyMiX, the driver engagement app, drivers can view their safety scores and track their personal performance so that training can be implemented to reduce any risky driving behaviours.

Linde experienced major safety-related results within a short period of time after implementation. Speeding, harsh acceleration and harsh braking, all behaviours that increase the risk of crashes and raises vehicle maintenance costs, has been drastically reduced. The number of kilometres that have been driven safely by Linde’s Romanian, Greek and Turkish fleets has increased fivefold in the last two years of implementing telematics with the help of MiX. Customer satisfaction rates have also improved as the newly gathered telematics data now makes scheduling more reliable and provides delivery notifications to customers.

Using MiX Fleet Manager, MiX Vision (an in-cab cameras) and MiX 4000 (an on-board computer capturing engine metrics), DTLO started measuring the behaviours of drivers (such as speeding or harsh braking) and reports were created to find the root cause of accidents. Subsequently, a driver training programme was created to coach drivers to behave more cautiously on the road to decrease the rate of accidents.

DTLO saw a 96% reduction in accidents within less than six months of implementing MiX by Powerfleet’s solutions. Knock-on effects were a complete elimination of customer complaints about driver behaviour, a reduction in operation costs and increased compliance with regulations.

To ensure transparency, drivers were involved in the process by training them on how each solution works and why it’s necessary. Large amounts of vehicle and driver data can now be collected and drivers are given real-time feedback on their behaviour (such as speeding). Scores are assigned based on predetermined criteria and drivers are ranked accordingly. Drivers can view these scores on the driver-facing MyMiX app and can monitor their own performance. Those individuals who receive a green rating, are praised and offered incentives while those with an amber or red rating are given appropriate training and guidance on how to improve.

Nottingham City Transport has seen a number of positive results due to implementing MiX by Powerfleet’s solutions. These results include faster data collection, a more efficient and ongoing coaching campaign, increased driver engagement and deeper insight into daily fleet operations.

Unlike many other bus operators, Reading Buses boasts a network of vividly branded buses and employs 410 drivers who are specifically recruited as “people who like people”. Their fleet of 181 buses includes 31 hybrid, 34 gas and 24 Euro6 diesel buses as part of their efforts to improve air quality for the greater community of Reading.

In looking to improve overall fuel consumption and reduce fuel spend among other aims, Reading Buses shortlisted a total of seven telematics providers. MiX by Powerfleet was singled out as the only company able to meet their requirements without over-complicating the solution on offer: namely MiX Fleet Manager with RIBAS (an in-cab driving aid) and MyMiX (a mobile app, designed to give drivers direct access to their driving data), a combination proven to drastically improve driver engagement and behavior.

By December 2015 – just nine months after the solution was first put to use – Reading Buses reported a 27% reduction in harsh braking and a 44% reduction in harsh acceleration across their fleet. Since fuel consumption is directly linked to the way in which vehicles are driven, it came as no surprise when their overall fuel consumption dropped by 2%, too.

BY DECEMBER 2015 – JUST NINE MONTHS AFTER THE SOLUTION WAS FIRST PUT TO USE – READING BUSES REPORTED A 27% REDUCTION IN HARSH BRAKING AND A 44% REDUCTION IN HARSH ACCELERATION ACROSS THEIR FLEET.

Speed monitoring is mandatory in all races organised by BTRA. This monitoring is dual purpose as it ensures that trucks have a level playing field and, more importantly, that truck drivers remain safe and crash-free during races. 

MiX Telematics has proven time and again to BTRA that their speed monitoring is precise every race. MiX Fleet Manager, the solution used, also provides an on-board alert system that lets drivers know when they’ve exceeded the speed limit, giving them opportunity to slow down, or when they are about to go over a predetermined speed. 

In addition to accurate speed monitoring, MiX Telematics provides the invaluable services of a Judge in Fact of Speed that offers on-site support for BTRA to ensure rules are correctly enforced or to settle disputes on racing days. 

Despite being an extremely successful operation, Borg was aware of a high rate of unsafe driving and vehicle rollovers – especially in deliveries that took vehicles over hills and through forests. Airco, a MiX by Powerfleet channel partner based in Sydney, recommended MiX Fleet Manager, a fully integrated fleet management solution that would help to meet the company’s safety, efficiency and compliance needs.

By combining an in-vehicle monitoring system (IVMS) with MiX Vision, MiX’s in-cab video offering, Borg Manufacturing could immediately start monitoring driver behavior, driving hours and vehicle performance in a bid to improve their business outcomes. Implementation began in February 2015 and, by March, the system had already started showing a return on investment.

In terms of RAG scoring, green (safe) scores went from 45% of total km driven to 99% in just six months. Red (unsafe) scores dropped from 22.49% to 0.11% in just seven months, and amber scores dropped from 33.01% to 4.52% over a total reporting period of 16 months.

The company also set up geo-fences in areas where rollovers had happened on a regular basis and dropped speed limits in those areas from 60 km/h to 50 km/h. Drivers had no choice but to slow down, with the result being a 100% reduction in rollovers.

In collaboration with channel partner Vehicle Technologies, a MiX by Powerfleet fleet management solution has now been fitted in 77 of their buses. The operator is responsible for providing transport services to around 3.8 million passengers and is committed to improving safety and efficiency, while lowering carbon emissions.

Red Bus CEO, Paul McNoe, says the vision for the operation is to lead the way in passenger transport in New Zealand. He also expects that on-going use of the MiX by Powerfleet solution will bring about enhanced passenger comfort, reduced accidents and savings in terms of maintenance costs.

When the company approached channel partner Intellifleet, their goals included to promote safe and efficient driving habits, better manage their drivers and vehicles, locate their remote vehicles at all times, and reduce vehicle damage caused harsh road conditions.

A MiX by Powerfleet fleet management solution was installed in 48 of their vehicles to help them effectively manage their risk. The solution included In-Vehicle Monitoring Systems (IVMS), satellite tracking, roll-over and panic alerts as well as advanced reporting and analytics.

Results included a dramatic shift in driver behavior and a massive driver scoring improvement. A significant reduction in vehicle damage and maintenance costs was also achieved, due to the reported decrease in abusive driving habits. Dunns Earthmoving also benefited from fuel cost reductions, while reporting that they received excellent after-sales support.

To them, the safe operation of heavy motor vehicles on public roads and farm tracks is of utmost importance. They were therefore looking for a system to improve both driver and public safety, enhance milk collection and truck performance, and manage in excess of 1,500 drivers. They also wanted to be proactive in reliability management.

In partnership with New Zealand channel partner, Vehicle Technologies, Fonterra installed a MiX by Powerfleet fleet management solution. Among the results, Fonterra soon noticed a significant reduction in high-speed incidents and rollovers, and found that their drivers were gaining public recognition as being safe and courteous drivers.

With MiX Vision cameras installed, Crusader Logistics can now view video clips of driver behaviour whenever crucial events (like harsh braking or speeding) are triggered. Following these events, data is collected from this footage and use to coach drivers to mitigate and prevent future incidents.

Crusader Logistics has experienced their drivers operating in a safer and more efficient manner which has led to a decrease in fuel consumption and, in turn, monetary savings. Through regular review of driver behaviour, Crusader Logistics can now more accurately identify potential issues and put preventative measures in place.

They have been a longstanding customer and partner of MiX by Powerfleet and have been utilising their fleet management solutions since 2016. MiX by Powerfleet were chosen as the preferred vendor for BAT based on our global footprint and the fact that we could service all the markets in which BAT operate.

British American Tobacco (BAT) are driven by two objectives. One is creating safer fleets as safety underpins everything that BAT undertakes. Reducing the number of accidents to zero is one of the ways BAT will achieve this objective. The second objective is improving their company’s sustainability, which is at the heart of their transformation journey called A Better Tomorrow™. BAT aims to achieve carbon neutrality across their value chain by 2050.

By utilising a variety of MiX by Powerfleet’ tailored fleet management tools, BAT now has access to vehicle and driver data that is organised into easy-to-understand reports. Using this information, the company has reduced speeding incidents per 100 kilometers driven and harsh braking events by 40% while harsh acceleration events were reduced by 18%. BAT has even managed to lowered the cost of their insurance premium by 8%.

The functionality A.W. Lumb uses the most is the tracking module. The live tracking feature allows A.W. Lumb to quickly identify vehicle locations in real time while the historical tracking allows them to monitor past trips in detail. MiX Fleet Manager has also enabled them to run an ‘AM first delivery service’ – a service that guarantees goods will be delivered on site with a customer before 8am.

Bush Tyres opted for the MiX DataTrak solution, which helped them achieve their goals.
