MiX Fleet Manager monitors vehicle parameters (such as fuel consumption) via sensors and the CAN bus of vehicles. It provides notifications to alert drivers if they exceed predetermined parameters so that they can self-correct themselves. In addition, it provides a driver identification feature and the ability to monitor maintenance schedules so that ITA Transportes can send vehicles in for a service in a timely manner.

After implementation, ITA Transportes saw a myriad of great results. Their fuel consumption dropped by 18%, operating costs were reduced by 40% and clutch interventions were lowered by a massive 90%. Monitoring maintenance schedules more effectively has led to fewer breakdowns and more vehicle availability. Even drivers have reported being more satisfied with their jobs as they are now more confident in their abilities on the road and are increasing their skills with the help of in-cab interventions.

Frish & Sons is a 13-person operation which runs eight vehicles, ranging from pickups to dump trucks. The company’s main aim was to use GPS tracking so that they can know where their staff and vehicles are at all times and if they are where they’re supposed to be. In addition to this, they wanted to track unsafe and inefficient driving behaviors such as speeding, harsh accelerations, excessive idling and more.

The company adopted MiX Solution, a self-service fleet software specifically designed for small businesses that run on tight margins. MiX Solution immediately identified a variety of issues that were resulting in the company paying for unnecessary overtime and wasting fuel. As a result, Frisch and Sons are now saving thousands of dollars a week. SPA were looking for a telematics suite to assist them in putting appropriate measures in place to both improve driver safety and effectively monitor compliance-related requirements.

Stabilised Pavements of Australia (SPA) is an innovative stabilisation contractor that has been in business since the 80s. Their experienced team of engineers and technical staff solve complex engineering problems on a daily basis and do important work to repair roads across Australasia to increase road safety.

SPA were facing various challenges including drivers speeding (which led to fines), fatigued driving, vehicle rollovers, high maintenance costs and more.

To assist SPA in overcoming their fleet obstacles, they approached Airco Auto Instruments, an experienced channel partner of MiX by Powerfleet. They established that SPA required increased operational visibility and improved driver behaviour (to reduce vehicle wear-and-tear and speeding).
