Vista 4WD Hire

Vista 4WD Hire provides short- and medium-term four-wheel drive rentals to customers in Queensland and New South Wales, Australia. One of their challenges are that their customers regularly visit exploration and mining sites in areas with little or no road infrastructure, making driver safety one of the company’s key concerns. This is why some of their rentals feature the latest safety equipment, including visibility enhancers and additional rollover protection.

To further improve safety, Vista 4WD recognized the need for a telematics-based In-Vehicle Monitoring System (IVMS) that’s capable of integrating driver behavior data, vehicle condition monitoring and GPS location data into an easy-to-use system visible to both the driver and a control room.

In consultation with channel partner Future Fleet, a MiX by Powerfleet In-Vehicle Monitoring System (IVMS) was installed in 30 of Vista 4WD Hire’s vehicles, which has enabled them to proactively manage scheduling maintenance and investigate accidents and incidents. The company’s customers have furthermore been able to improve their own safety behind the wheel by gaining access to trip reports and driver behavior information, which reports on factors like speeding and harsh braking.
